Book Blogger Test Tag

I can’t remember when or if I’ve done a book tag. But I saw Jenn @ Bound to Writing do this one, and I knew I had to. Now she hasn’t nominated me personally though, but I thought, “Sure why not.” Thank you, Jenn! Now go check out her posts. You’ll love her blog.

Now let’s get to the book tag!

The Rules

Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog

Answer the ten questions asked on this post

Nominate at least five people to do it also

The Questions

Top 3 Book Pet Hates

  1. When authors destroy your OTP for no good reason (like cheating) or heavily hint at a potential relationship, only to burn it down. ACOTAR series is a prime example. But that fandom is too vicious, so I’ll leave it alone in this post.
  2. When authors don’t represent bi characters correctly. I have had enough of a character being only lesbian or only gay (but I’m happy to see more lgbtq+ characters though). Have people forgotten there are bi ones as well? And please don’t think that these characters are into threesomes either. Maybe bi people are. But assuming that all do doesn’t help your storyline and alienates your readers.
  3. When an established series has a cover change. Now, this thought is a little controversial. I love the Ember in the Ashes series, but there has been a lot of debate over this issue. I’m glad that the cover will represent brown characters, but the publisher could have easily represented them when the book came out. I have to agree with my blogger friend who believes it’s a marketing ploy.

Perfect Reading Spot

I’m Sheldon, so I have a “that’s my spot” chair. It’s perfect, and it’s in the right place. And no one else sits in it, except occasionally my floof.

3 Book Confessions

  1. I haven’t finished reading Harry Potter series. Don’t judge, please. But my Grade 6 teacher turned me off of it when he made fun of me not reading it in front of the class. He was an ass, so I can’t blame the series for his faults.
  2. I used to hate mass market paperbacks and trade paperbacks, but becoming a book blogger has encouraged me to look into buying paperbacks for older series. And a part of me would like to see the option of paperbacks for new releases like you see in the UK, but I doubt we’ll see that change.
  3. I never thought I’d read paranormal romance, but I’ve grown to love it. Give me smut any day. 😂

Last Time You Cried Reading a Book

When haven’t I cried?! I cried hard when I read ACOWAR, Lord of Shadows, and a few others.

Number of Books on Your Bedside Table

If I have any books on my table, my floof of a cat may just collide into them when he gets up. Thankfully, my stray-turned-pet doesn’t knock anything down because he’s the most respectful cat I’ve ever seen, but he overestimates his jumps and would most likely knock them down.

Favorite Reading Snack

HA! I typically forget to eat when I’m reading, so I rarely have a snack. And I fear to get my book dirty.

3 Books You’d Recommend to Anyone

A Picture of Your Favorite Bookshelf

I’m in the process of getting a new shelf (probably need two or three more), so my shelves are in shambles right now.

Biggest Reading Secret

I get twitchy when my books are damaged, so I won’t ever lend out one, even to my closest friends (I love you, but I’ve seen your books). And I get even twitchier when a brand new book shows up damaged. Yeah, I’m talking to you, Canada Post.
