The #NotAll Book Tags

Happy Friday!

Who’s ready for the weekend? I know I need it by now. I truly do. I found this tag on My World of Books, and it looked like fun. So check out Sahi’s blog!

You know me and tags. Once I see something great, I need to do it, even if there are reviews to do. 😅

#NotAll Cover Changes: A cover change you liked

I’ve been wanting to read the Grishaverse series since it came out, and I’ve been dying to do so when I finished Six of Crows. But what sealed the deal is the new covers. I like the original ones. However, the change makes me swoon.

#NotAll Adaptations: An Adaptation you love more than the book

I’ve read some passages from the book, and I knew it wasn’t to my taste. But the movie is my go-to movies though.

#NotAll Tropes: A trope you’ll never get tired of seeing

ENEMIES TO LOVERS. I’ll be eighty years old and still want this trope to slay me.

#NotAll Insta-Love: You insta-loved this insta-couple

The instalove is more so on Cress’ side, but I love Thorne and Cress together. They are one of my ultimate OTPs! I get all mushy when I think of them. 😍

#NotAll Love Triangles: An example of a love triangle done well

I typically stay with YA titles, but I feel YA is just littered with love triangles that usually don’t work. The exception may be ACOMAF and An Ember in the Ashes. But for an adult book to play this trope, the Cainsville series uses it rather cleverly.

However, I know how the last book ends, and I’m not sure I want to read it any time soon.

#NotAll Parents: Bookish parents who, you know, parent

So either parents are dead, dying, mentally unstable, abusive, or they are all of the above. So finding a book that matches this question took awhile. 😂 But this series has such a great family structure, which I love reading. But I don’t usually see it though.

#NotAll Villains: A villain you love

I haven’t read A Conjuring of Light yet, and I’ve seen only a few scenes with Osaron, but it is one villain I know I’ll love. I can’t wait to see what it does.

#NotAll Chosen Ones: A chosen one you can get behind

I’m just starting to read Heir of Fire, but I love Rowelin. This series may break me. But I don’t care. I adore Aelin. She deserves the same respect Kaz gets.

#NotAll Hyped Books: A book that lived up to the acclaim

My black little heart was so worried this book would not live up to any hype. But it did! And I absolutely love this evil, twisted retelling. Give me siren princesses who rip out hearts and siren-killing, cunning princes.

#NotAll *Insert Favourite Genre*: A book you’re not keen on from your favourite genre

I have a love-hate relationship with TMI. I’m not sure why I still read it (thankfully, not lately), but the last book was too messy and convoluting. Frankly, I’m not into the whole incest trope Cassie liked playing with. It still makes me shudder.

#NotAll *Insert Least Favourite Genre*: A book you liked from a genre you don’t often read

I rarely read contemporary thrillers. You all know how I stick to fantasy. But I’m still trying to healing from this gut-wrenching book.

Tag time!

No pressure. If you don’t want to do it or have already done it, that’s fine. But like always, if you do, link me up! I’d love to see your responses.

Even if I haven’t tagged you, and you’d love to do it, go ahead!

  1. The Grisha trilogy cover changes are the only ones I can get behind. Not only are they gorgeous they at least released all the books in the original covers before changing them

  2. This tag seems like a lot of fun! I remember seeing the new cover of Shadow and Bone in the bookstore and I didn’t realise until now that that’s what it was haha, it’s stunning!

  3. Omg this tag looks so fun! I think I’m going to have to tag myself haha. I agree with you on the new covers of Shadow and Bone and the rest of the series – they are just so darn pretty! Another cover change I appreciate is the newly released covers for the Darkest Minds series. I have the original hardcovers and while they are my favorite I do like the new paperbacks. new covers are so hit or miss with me – I hate it when they change in the middle of a series but when a series has been out for a while and gets a re-vamp its not as bad.

  4. This tag looks so fun! I agree that I like the cover changes for the Grisha trilogy. I’m also glad to hear that you think To Kill a Kingdom lived up to the hype because it’s on my TBR. Great post 🙂
