Hey, everyone!
How’s your long weekend looking? I finally feel like myself after Fan Expo. I never knew I could walk that much, but my feet say otherwise. 😲
I’ve never done this award before. Leslie from Books Are the New Black nominated me. You need to check out her blog. You’re in for a treat.
Thank you, Leslie! 💜😘
The rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you
- Leave a link to their blog
- Tell us 7 things about yourself
- Nominate 15 bloggers/bloggers you’ve discovered recently or follow regularly
Seven Things about Me
- I’ve almost died three times. I practically lived in my local ER/hospital because I was always sick.
- Since I had a speech impediment when I was young, I hated public speaking. I couldn’t do that part of an assignment, and I certainly can’t do it now.
- I’m a marketing and publicity intern at a small Canadian press. Getting this internship took me years. I actually mean that. I couldn’t believe that I got it, and I’m so lucky that I have.
- I may have half-siblings, but I don’t see them as family. Over the years, I found mine through friends, and they’re more of a family than my own blood.
- I don’t like peacocks. I had one stalk and chase me. And ever since then, I can’t look at one without having a “flight” moment. They may be pretty, but they are dangerous.
- I hate when books show up damaged. My collection is basically pristine. And when I see a book damaged, I cry a little inside.
- I swore off getting another cat when my first pet, Tobi, died. It took me years to get over that loss. However, I found this little guy walking in my neighbour’s driveway, whistled at him, then fed him when he followed me home. And he just walked right into my family’s life. Literally, he just walked through our front door and occasionally knocked on it when the rain came. Bud, my stray-turned-pet, has captured my heart. He’s a fighter like me, and I adore this little man. ISN’T HE CUTE?! 😍

If you don’t feel like doing this post or have been nominated before, don’t feel obligated. But if you want to do it, link back to me! I’d love to see your responses.
Thank you again, Leslie.
I didn’t know that you work in publishing! That’s so cool!
Also, I completely relate to #4. I have a half sister that I really rarely talk to and it’s weird to think that we’re actually family.
And your cat is adorable! 😻 Please give him some love from me!

I’ve been interning for six months! 😙 I absolutely love it.
Right? I try to explain to people, but they simply don’t understand how that happens so often now.
Thank youuu 💜 I’ll give him some head scratches!

I loved reading about your cat, and I need pristine books too. I almost… can’t bring myself to read a damaged one. Great post!

FINALLY! I find someone who thinks the same way. My mind automatically goes to the damaged area, and I can’t stop thinking about it when I read the book.

I have a new appreciation for it now once I started working at the small press. You don’t know how hard it is to get bloggers to read small press work.
Now you’ve got me all teary. 😭 Agreed! Everyone says he followed the right family home. Our neighbours knew about him and were happy he got a forever home. He was on the street for too long.

Oh, I believe it. I would assume it’s like booktube. They only talk about the big names and popular books.
Aww! 💜 I didn’t mean to do that! I’m so glad that you guys found each other though! What a sweet story. 💕

It’s much harder on booktube and Instagram. I’d be lucky to get a response.
Bah? No worries there. Happy tears. Until he wakes me up at 5 for food 😂

Awh Bud is so cute!! I had 2 stray cats hanging around my backyard and at first they were really cold and easily scared but now they’re the cuddliest cats ever!😊

Ahh, that’s adorable! I’ve found most stray cats are. I was so surprised he let me pet him when he was still living on the street. He’d come running when he saw me or heard me whistle for him. He still does. 😂 He’s such a little suck. I love it.

Thank you so much for the nomination!!!
I have also been stalked by peacocks (like 3 separate times in 3 different countries) and they are about as evil as geese! I had a speech impediment when I was younger and remember going to speech therapy in kindegarten and first grade: “keep the lion in the cage.” Why do I still remember that?!?!

You’re welcome! 💜
The both of us shouldn’t go near any birds, period. The same thing with blue jays. I had one dive bomb me. And I still get creeped out by them.
!!! I remember that too! I was in speech therapy for a few years, but I still get some difficulty with a few words. One saying that stuck with me was “funny bunny.”

It was a lot of fun – my only disappointment was that despite my taking 5 books to read I only got through 1 and 1/2. I know, unheard of right? There was just so much to do and see and so my reading goals were pushed to the back burner momentarily. I had a couple of reviews to polish but I’m hoping to get the Tag done and ready for the end of next week or Monday of the next, next week. 🙂
