The Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

Morning, book fam!

Let’s start the week off with a great tag. I’ve already had to move around this week’s schedule so many times that I’m not sure what day I’m supposed to do what. But hey, at least I got the post done. 😂

And of course, I’d forget where I found the tag, but it was floating around somewhere. And you all know my affinity for these posts. So I hope you enjoy!

A popular book or series that you didn’t like

I feel horrible for using this book. But I hoped for more character growth. And the overall pacing killed the story for me.

A popular book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love

Yes, the story is slow. But given that the novel revolves around time as currency, somehow that works. And I loved traveling this cruel world and cannot wait to see what’ll happen in Evermore!

A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you didn’t want them to end up with or an OTP you don’t like

I am not happy, not at all. I knew Kelley would pull the whole relationship swap, like she always does, but I truly want Olivia to be with the man who didn’t constantly lie to her. As much as I want to catch up with this series, I’m not ready to witness the destruction of my OTP.

A popular book genre that you hardly reach for

I rarely read contemporary, chick lit, or romcoms. I know I’m the target audience, but I’d rather read fantasy.

A popular or beloved character that you do not like

Don’t hate me, but I can’t stand Ron Weasley sometimess. I’d have no guilt for pushing him down a flight of stairs.

A popular author that you can’t seem to get into

Veronica Roth. I didn’t mind watching the Divergent movies, but I don’t see the point in reading the series. Yes, it intrigued me. But I know what happens. And I hate when authors pull off that trope.

A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing

Dull, clumsy, unbeautiful main character. I actually love when I see characters who are klutz since I’m one. But really ladies, you don’t need a man to validate your beauty.

A common series that you have no interest in reading

Funny enough, I don’t want to touch erotica even though I’m starting to love reverse harem. 😅

The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or TV show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

The storyline adapts so well to the big screen though. I can’t get over how much the movie rivals the book.

My Victims

Muaha, I can make you gush about your bookish hates/dislikes. Well, okay, I can’t force you, but I’d love to see what you think. So if you want to do the tag, link back to my post! And just because I haven’t tagged, don’t let that stop you.

  1. I always thought it was a missed opportunity and Ron should have died instead of Fred. Then Hermione could have married Fred instead as they would have had a more equal relationship. (The twins were very intelligent, and he would never be a “yes dear” type of husband. Plus they had much better chemistry – or possibly I just read waaaay too much into the skiving snackbox conversations. Didn’t you feel like they were flirting?!) Also, Ron is booooring.

  2. Oh Shadow of the Fox is on my to read. We’ll see how I like it. I’m one of the people who don’t like Everless, but I hope you enjoy Evermore! Thank you so much for the tag!

  3. I couldn’t stand Ron Weasley either. I’m happy I finally found someone who also dislike him. I thought his character was dull and uninteresting. plus I started to dislike him more when he started to date Hermione, I don’t think it’s realistic for both of them to end up together.
