The Sleeping Beauty Book Tag

I’ll just admit this now: I’m not a huge fan of Sleeping Beauty. But once I watched Maleficent, I was hooked though. I’m more of a Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid fan. But you know me about Disney and tags. I’m predictable, I know.

Mandy and Sha tagged me. Thank you, dearies! This pick-me-up is just what I’ve been looking for! So let’s get to the tag, yes?

Sleeping Beauty | A Main/Title Character Who is Overshadowed by Others

Mariko had a solid path in Flame in the Mist. I loved her character growth, but I feel she took a step back in Smoke in the Sun.

Prince Phillip | Name a Character You Would Slay a Dragon For

CARDAN. CARDAN. CARDAN. My precious wittle kitty cat deserves the world. And I’d sneak Jude in here as well.

Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather | Your Favourite Fictional Dysfunctional Family

I could use all the Shadowhunter families, but I’ll stick with the Blackthorns. They go from a patriarch being eaten by a demonic worm to lawbreakers. So I’m not surprised this family is a little bit dysfunctional. 😂

Maleficent | Name a Villain You Can Relate to (I mean, I might curse a few people for not inviting ME to a party)

Is Nova truly a villain? I’m not so sure. I think the Renegades and the Anarchists are the villains in their own ways. But I also see how each side has a reason for their deeds.

Briar Rose | A Book/Character Whose Name Confuses You/You Always Mess Up

Any one of Sarah J. Maas’ characters. I desperately need a pronunciation guide for each book Sarah writes.

Once Upon a Dream | A Book That Gave You Deja Vu (♪♫♬ I know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam ♪♫♬)

It’s not as if I didn’t like reading this story. I rather enjoyed it, but the cliche forbidden love storyline is just too overdone. I was hoping for a bit more spunk behind it though.

Blue Vs. Pink | A Character Who Can’t Make Up Their Mind

Yes, I’m talking to you, Alina. PICK A BOY AND STOP FAWNING OVER THE OTHERS. I wanted to smack her throughout the entire series.

Sleeping Spindle aka Fulfillment of the Curse | Name a Book That Turned Out Exactly How You Thought It Would Be (Good or Bad)

A misfit boy falls in love with a not-so-normal teenage girl, who might be a werewolf. Insta love? Yes. Slightly predictable? Mhm. But I enjoyed the book though.

Tag Time!

Who’s up for another Disney-themed tag? You know how it is. You don’t need to do it, especially if your schedule is already too full. But if you’re up to it, link back to my post!

Alyssa | Eli | Mel | Meeghan | Whitney | Sahi | Sven | Mogsy | Kristin | Aimee | Olivia | You!

  1. Ooooh I loved reading your answers, Siobhan! They were so much fun to read. I need that same guide for Maas’s characters. I even thought I had some of the name’s down (like Rhysand) only to realize I’m still not getting it right. And omigosh, yessssssssssssssssss to Alina. She needed to make her mind up soooooo much. And I totally agreed about Haven! It did work out just what I was thinking, but it was pretty good overall. Wonderful answers, Siobhan, and thank you so much for doing the tag! 🙂

  2. […] I miss having a bunch of books to answer for these kinds of tags! Since I haven't been reading much at all lately, it's been getting harder to fill these in with more recent books. I managed to get a few new ones on here though, so I'm totally giving myself a pat on the back. 😉 Anyway, thank you so much to Siobhan @ Siobhan's Novelties for tagging me to do the Sleeping Beauty book tag! You can check out her answers right here! […]

  3. The Shadowhunter families all definitely fit the bill for dysfunctional families! I haven’t read the Dark Artifices yet, so I’d probably go with the Lightwoods’ and how the parent-offspring relationships sucked at first, but everyone ended up growing together and I love that. ♥ Thanks for the tag, lovely!
