80s Movies Tag

Morning, everyone!

Since I arrived in the last year of the 80s, but I grew up in the 90s, my childhood was a perfect blend of these two generations. So I needed to do this tag, which Ashley from Infinite Library created, when I saw it on Ally Writes Things. Yes, she didn’t tag anyone, but you know my weaknesses.

So let’s start off Wednesday with a nostalgia-filled tag.

A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP ALL NIGHT

I cannot get enough of this series. The third installment may be my favourite though. Sexual tension and fighting just bring out the best in some characters. I used to hate Austin, but he may be one of my favourite characters!

A WONDERFULLY QUOTABLE BOOK

Someone, please kick my damn ass so I’ll start this series. I fell in love with all the sarcastic, strong quotes, and there are f-bombs aplenty.

A CHARACTER WHO LOVES BREAKING THE RULES

Did I honestly expect the daughter of convicted serial killers would respect any rules at all? No, so that’s why I love Olivia as the leading lady.

A BOOK COUPLE THAT TOOK AN ETERNITY TO GET TOGETHER

I’d have to say Jessa (Jem and Tessa) from the Shadowhunters series. How many years have these two waited?! I thought Will and Jace waited a long time.

A BOOK INVOLVING TIME TRAVEL

So this YA book has sat on my TBR shelf for such a long time. But I love a good time travel tale though, especially one of historical fiction.

A CHARACTER WITH A UNIQUE STYLE

MAGNUS BANE would put everyone to shame. 😉 I adore him and would be honoured to throw glitter at idgits.

FAVOURITE BOOK INVOLVING TRAINING/MENTORING TROPE

I love how Jude, the woman who rivals my own darkness, constantly challenges herself so she can one-up her opponents.

A BOOK WITH A TRIP THAT DOESN’T GO TO PLAN

Frankly, the entire novel doesn’t go as planned. Every step Jules and Liam took simply pushed them further than where they started.

A BOOK WITH THE CENTRAL CHARACTER’S NAME IN THE TITLE

Even though I’ve watched the show, and her story is a part of Canadian history, I’m not sure if I can stomach reading this book. It’s incredibly hard to watch her devolution.

A FEMALE CHARACTER WHO COMES OUT OF HER SHELL

I’ve just finished reading Dark Lover, and hell, I am regretting not reading the book sooner. Beth, the main lead, truly grows into a confident vampire queen. I love her character growth.

A DEATH THAT TOOK YOU BY SURPRISE

How can you kill off a main character? It somewhat works in this series. But at the time of the death scene, I legit ugly cried.

AN ENDING THAT LEFT YOU BOTH HAPPY AND SAD

Kelley intwined both her Darkness Rising and Darkest Powers series to make an enthralling ending. I’m thrilled to see the main character with the love interests who deserve them. But I’m still sad over the finale though. I wanted more.

Tag Time

It doesn’t matter how young or mature you are. The 80s was a fabulous era. So I’d love to tag you all, but I don’t have the time. If you’re up to it, then link back to my post. I’d love to see what you pick. If I haven’t picked you, then go ahead and do the tag anyways. No pressure on anyone though!

  1. Great answers, Siobhan! Gosh, I love Nevernight. It has so many fantastic quotes. They always crack me up. I saw the adaptation of Alias Grace but never read the book. Maybe I should at some point.
Haha, I think we definitely agree that it took forever for Tessa and Jem to get together. But I liked both of the love interests in that triangle so it’s kind of nice that she got to be with both of them at different points in her life.
