The Romance Reader Tag

Hey book fam,

Even if you don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, which I’m a day late on, February the 15th is always great for cheaper chocolates. Am I right?

I’m starting to love romance books. And I’ve eyed this tag for a long time. I found it on Meeghan Reads and Bakes. So give Meeghan some love and like her post!

Let’s get to the tag!

What Age Did You Start Reading Romance Novels?

I was 13 when I picked up my first romance novel. Actually, it’s a paranormal romance, so I’m not surprised there. Clearly, it’s an adult title, and I shouldn’t have gone near it, but my English teacher gave it to me, and I couldn’t part with it. 😉

If You Could Pick One Hero to Meet from Your Favourite Romane Novels, Who Would It Be and Why?

Elena Danvers! Ugh, she’s tough, broken, and strong. For the last sixteen years, I’ve related to her. I’ve looked up to her. And she’s given me strength. And she doesn’t take shit from anyone.

Who Are Your Favourite Romance Authors and Why?

I don’t read strictly romance authors. Most of my picks are paranormal romance ones. But these are my favourites: Kelley Armstrong, J. R. Ward, Gena Showalter, Diana Gabaldon, Jane Austen, and Tate James. Each author gives you her take on romance.

What Is a Favourite Romance Novel to Reread?

This book makes my heart swell. And as I think about it, I want to weep. Frankly, any Jane Austen book does that to me. The woman was a genius.

What Book Would You Recommend to a Non-Romance Reader?

I find recommending romance books difficult. On one hand, some readers may hate the paranormal element in that genre. On the other, they may prefer it and not like contemporary. So which ones would you pick? If you’re undecided, here are my recommendations:

Which Is Your Favourite: Contemporary, Suspense, or Historical and Why?

I don’t mind contemporary if done nicely. But I think historical gives you a bit more depth. But I may be biased since I love it so much.

Tag Time

If you aren’t a romance reader or have already done it, then don’t feel like you need to do this tag. If you are interested, go ahead and do it. You can always link back to my post. I hope you all have fun!

  1. Yes!!!! I can’t wait to do this, I’ve been looking for a romance tag to do and this one sounds perfect. 😉

I like historical romance, too. Right now, I’m trying to get through Tessa Dare’s backlist and there are so many books but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can finish them by end of 2019 😛
