Happy Tuesday, bloggers,
Oh goody, I get to show the world of how weird I am. Scratch that. You probably already know. But I might as well give you more examples, am I right?
Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. The next topic is all about books we don’t want anyone, including other book lovers, touching. Frankly, I don’t let anyone, except my Mom, go near my books. I don’t let anyone borrow them either. So since I don’t own many signed or special copies, they hold more meaning for me. But I may have an awful case of OCD. I don’t know which.
So let’s get to the list, yes? I hope you enjoy the read.
Throne of Glass Collector’s Edition
I’ve barely touched this book. I squealed for several minutes when I finally received my copy. Yes, I have a trade copy, but the collector’s edition is beyond anything I imagined. Unfortunately, it’s also one of the most expensive books in my collection.
Godsgrave Signed First Edition
When I first order Godsgrave, I didn’t realize I purchased the signed first edition. With this series though, buyers rarely find one long after the release date. I knew I lucked out when I got mine.
Owlcrate Special Edition Finale
For a good year, I’ve eyed Owlcrate special boxes and hesitated buying one because I feared the book itself would be damaged in transit. But I’m glad I didn’t let my mind convince me otherwise. The exclusive cover is similar to the trade one, but it’s so much more gorgeous in life. Unless I bought it through a digital signing website, I’d never have a signed copy.
Bitten Hardcover Edition
Yes, Bitten isn’t signed. Nor does it hold monetary value. But I remember the day I found the novel in my home class. And that day was when I knew I wanted to work at a publisher, and I haven’t looked back since.
Kingdom of Ash Exclusive Edition
I have two copies of this edition. I wanted one I could read and the other to collect. And I don’t regret I bought two. Both have custom art on the reverse side of the jacket. And Sarah’s signature is on the front of the book. I may have joined the fandom late, but I wanted to celebrate the finale.
Vengeful Exclusive Edition
Bravo, Sib. Buy the sequel in a series you haven’t read yet. But I know I’ll never get another chance at owning a signed copy of Schwab’s book. Not a chance. I jumped on the chance to own a special Canadian edition.
Great choices! I love my Vengeful and Godsgrave signed editions too!!

I don’t blame you for picking up an exclusive copy of Vengeful. And I’ve picked up sequels to books that I haven’t read the first one to as well… because I’ll read them someday, right?

It makes total sense to be protective of special edition books.

I totally get why you wouldn’t want to lend any of these out! That Owlcrate Finale is gorgeous, it’s amazing how many pretty versions of one book there can be.

I love that one of your books symbolizes so much of your life and has such a powerful memory associated with it! I can’t say some of my books aren’t like that. Like maybe they don’t meet all the other qualifications to be on my shelf except for that particular memory that’s attached to it.
