Top Ten Tuesday | Most Anticipated Releases in the Last Half of 2019

Happy Tuesday, bloggers!

I truly believe 2019 is a stellar year for new releases. And while the first half of 2019 is over, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we’re half way through the year.

Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. This week’s topic is anticipated releases in the last half of the year. I have so many to count, but I want to show off some titles I’m eagerly waiting to read. I hope you find either new reads or your favourites.

Have fun!

Spin the Dawn

Pitched as a mix of Project Runway and Mulan, Spin the Dawn has a lot to live up to. Instagram hasn’t stopped talking about it. And honestly, I have high expectations for it.

House of Salt and Sorrows

A spooky retelling is all I need in my life. I just found out about the title today. It’s giving me gothic ocean vibes. And I’m hooked. Can August hurry up already?!

Darkdawn

I need to read the first two novels before I start freaking out over the final one, right? Right? Nah, I always do this to myself. So it’s no surprise that Darkdawn has a place on this list.

Serpent & Dove

A witch on the run and a witch hunter must work together. What can go wrong? An epic start to an intriguing series, that’s what. I am eagerly hoping Serpent & Dove is an enemy-to-lovers title.

The Girl the Sea Gave Back

Adrienne surprised me with Sky in the Deep. So I had no choice in adding her next book to my TBR list. I love her writing. And I cannot wait to get back into this Viking series.

Ninth House

My Mom would question my loyalty for wanting to read two books with snakes on them. But I’m not missing out on Leigh’s new novel though. I’m thrilled but hesitant with it though. I hope her writing is different from the Grisha Trilogy but similar to the Six of Crows series.

  1. I was excited for all of these books, but have already read 3 of them now. My favorite was The House of Salt and Sorrows. I can’t wait for The Girl the Sea Gave Back and Ninth House makes me so excited.

  2. I’m seeing House of Salt and Sorrows on a lot of lists today and I’m as excited as everyone. We all love some creepy stories. I’m also seeing The Girl the Sea Gave Back and I’ve been meaning to check out Adrienne Young’s books for quite some time now.. this must be it.

  3. I’ve been hearing a lot about The House of Salt and Sorrows this week and it sounds good. I was able to read an ARC of Spin the Dawn and I thought it was good. Gotta read Ninth House too!

  4. I saw the word ‘Mulan’ & instantly added Spin the Dawn to my TBR 😂 Also I’m INSANELY excited for Leigh Bardugo’s next book – I have such high hopes for it!

  5. I’m hopeful that Bardugo’s writing will be less like her YA novels and something else entirely for Ninth House. I think we’ve got a pretty good chance with that and that it’ll lean more towards Six of Crows. Great picks! This year is truly throwing a lot of good our way.
