Happy Tuesday!
So Canadian Thanksgiving has passed, and I’m getting off a turkey binge and a long weekend. I feel as if I need another weekend just to recuperate, do you feel me?
Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. The next prompt is extraordinary book titles! Elise from A Book and a Cup submitted the topic.
Have fun reading!
Lifel1k3
It’s a simple word, yet the distinctive treatment of it is what makes it special. I absolutely love how the publisher used numbers in the name, and it matches the feel of the book.
Furyborn
I’ve always loved this title. But I haven’t read it until now. And I completely regret every month I never read Furyborn. The name is uncomplicated, but I love it.
Fight Club
The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. And yet the name is called Fight Club. 😂
A Thousand Pieces of You
I’m not a huge fan of long names. However, I like how this sci-fi fits the title perfectly.
The Girl King
The title contradicts itself. But I don’t care. I’m here for the fierce female feel of it, and I respect the author taking that risk. I love it!
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
I rarely talk about the book. But I love the simplicity of the name. It makes readers think it’s a history book, but this sci-fi is anything but, even if it reads like one.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
It took me awhile to get used to the name of this book. However, when I found out why, I instantly fell for it though. I just wish it got more recognition.
I love The Girl King title!

Oh! I remember being super curious about Claudia’s books back when they were new, but alas, I sort of forgot about them then. The titles are pretty epic. ‘Guernsey’ is one that ended up on my list today, and I suspect others, too; it’s almost too perfect for this topic. 🙂

I considered adding the Guernsey Literary Society but was too lazy to type out the whole title. Ha! Good choice. My TTT

The Girl King is a pretty good title, as is Lifel1k3… although it took me a long time to be able to spell the latter correctly.

I always love short titles like Lifel1k3 and Furyborn. Something about the simplicity of just one or two words. A bunch of those types of titles ended up making my TTT list too 🙂

Ooo well done on thinking of some short, extraordinary titles… mine are all pretty long! Here’s my TTT post: https://thebookwormchronicles.wordpress.com/2019/10/15/top-ten-tuesday-15th-october-2019/ 🙂

I included Guernsey on my list too! I honestly avoided it for a long time because the title sounded so ridiculous that I thought I would hate it. Now, knowing where it comes from in the book, I completely get it, and it is a fitting title. It’s really true how a title can make or break a book.
