Top Ten Tuesday | Spooky Reads

Happy Tuesday, ghouls and goblins!

We have two more days. I repeat, we have two more days until Halloween! Who is ready? HA. I’m attending a party and don’t know what I’ll dress up as.

Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. October’s final prompt is a Halloween freebie! What does that mean? Well, I get to gush about spooky reads.

Have a great read and a Happy Halloween, everyone!

Serpent & Dove

Witches controlling your every move, people disappearing after witch attacks, and some scary casters who want nothing more than to teach mundane people a lesson. I loved the whole mystery element in the witch community. I didn’t know what to expect from them or what they’d do.

The Bone Houses

Bone houses are zombies. Yeah, I don’t typically read zombie books. However, I adore what Emily created. Everyone is under threat, and the only way to save them is to find the clues to kill these bone houses.

House of Salt and Sorrows

I wasn’t sure if the book would be creepy. But Erin ramps up the scare factor in this retelling. I didn’t know which sister would die, who would survive, and who was killing them.

Rules for Vanishing

Kal from Reader Vorcarious convinced me to read this scary book. I’m all for reading about vengeful ghosts, a missing girl, and sisterly love!

Four Dead Queens

Assassins and outcasts, classic murder mystery, and whodunit elements make Four Dead Queens worth a read for autumn.

🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃

  1. Serpent & Dove is in my fall TBR and I can’t wait to get into that. House of Salt & Sorrow really creeped me out! I do love the concept of the tradition during and post-funeral. It’s the eerie-kind of beautiful.

  2. As the ultimate chicken I’m actually really surprised that I can say I’ve read three of these and absolutely LOVED them?! I have the other two on my list and was contemplating picking one of them up next (leaning towards The Bone Houses)! Great TTT 😊

  3. SO many good picks on here! I’m excited to (eventually) get to both House of Salt and Sorrows AND Serpent & Dove. AND, you’ve definitely convinced me to give The Bone Houses a try, plus bump up Rules for Vanishing on my TBR a bit!
