Happy Tuesday, bloggers!
Since I’m Canadian, I’ve already celebrated my Thanksgiving. But given that I have many book friends around the world, especially in the States, I thought I’d participate in this week’s post.
Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. The final prompt of November is the thankful freebie!
Enjoy the read!
My Family and Friends
This year has given a special meaning to family. I honestly thought that my family wouldn’t survive, but it has. And I’ve never been this proud of us.
My friends, who know who you are, deserve a medal for dealing with all of my nonsense. I don’t know how you put up with me. But you’re still here. And I cannot help but love you more.
Book Squad
Jess, Kal, Loretta, Dev, Erin, and Luana—you all have been there for me when I wanted nothing more than to give up. You’ve given me the will to keep fighting. I’ve cried laughing and have cried when I talked with you. You don’t know how much I adore all of you
Book Friends and Followers
I keep blogging because of you, you know that, right? Well, now you know. I keep doing it for you all. And frankly, I’ll keep doing until I either run out of ideas.
My Internship
Almost two years in, and I’m still here. I cannot believe that I’ve stuck through it. This internship has been such a fulfilling experience.
Access to Reading
This one may be the last, but it’s equally important. Access to reading and to book is often seen as a right. But in reality, it’s honestly a privilege to most of us readers. We aren’t shot for reading a book, we are killed, or we aren’t shunned. I’ve always been encouraged to read, and now I understand why.
Here’s to having access to reading. That’s one privilege I don’t take for granted. I’m glad to hear your internship is still going strong. Great list, Siobhan!

I think a lot of us take literacy for granted. Those of us who are book bloggers are truly blessed, because the majority of us have access to lots of books!

I think we often take for granted just how lucky we are in the USA and Canada that we do have some wonderful access to books.

I always thought the timing of Canadian Thanksgiving made so much more sense, being a harvest celebration and all. 🙂

So true – the freedom to read what we want, and the ability to access books, is so precious, and is something we should never take for granted! I especially feel that way as a woman, knowing that women still lag behind men in literacy and access to education in so many places. We’re very, very lucky!

I’m glad you have so many supportive people around you! It’s definitely one of the most important things, to have people who have your back and stick with you through difficult times. Also having a job/internship that you enjoy is great. I just got hired as an intern for February next year and I’m so excited about it! 🙂

I’m also thankful for access to books. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
