Happy Tuesday, bloggers!
Yes! I can put my journalism skills to good use. Okay, we bloggers and readers would all love the chance to talk to our favourite authors, whether alive or dead. So I’m quite excited for this prompt.
Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. The next prompt is questions I’d ask my favourite authors.
Have fun reading!
Sarah J. Maas
- You’ve upset some writers. How do you appeal to them in your new and upcoming series?
- If you could rewrite a book or series for whatever reason, what one would it be and why?
- What series spoke to you the most?
Victoria Schwab
- How can you, as an author, destigmatize mental illness in life and fiction? Why is it so important to you?
- How does mental illness shape your writing and your characters?
- Which character speaks to you the most and why?
C. M. Stunich
- What inspired you to write reverse harem novels?
- The Why Choose movement is quite popular now, but what makes your novels stand out from the rest?
- Out of all of your bad boys, who’d be in your harem and why?
Penelope Douglas
- Male sexual assault is not always talked about. Why did you want to address it in your main series? Was it difficult to write about?
- Why do you think bully romance is such a great selling feature? Why are so many readers intrigued by it?
Crystal Ash
- If you could write a series forever, which one would it be?
- In your post-apocalyptic series, you bring several mythological figures to the forefront. Why is that?
- Who’s your favourite mythological figure?
- Why did you write the Steel Demons MC? Is there anything in your life that pushed you to write it?
I’ve only read books by Sarah J. Maas from your list, although your questions made me add a few new authors to my TBR!

Very professional questions!
I’ve only read one VE Schwab book, but I liked it a lot. Gotta read more, since I keep buying them when they go on sale.

I loved all the deep questions you asked. It would be so interesting to hear what it was like for authors writing about difficult topics. It must be hard spending so much time researching, writing, making sure it’s done right. That’s a lot of time spent with that difficult topic!

Ooh good question about bully romance. I think I’d like to ask my favourite romance authors what they think makes the tropes they write about popular! Also really like the questions you’d ask Schwab. Great post 😀

Brilliant post!! Your questions are great – I also thought it’s pretty bold how Penelope Douglas addressed male assault, it’s something that needs to be talked about a lot more. I went a bit less deep for this ttt haha, it was a really fun one: https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2020/08/25/top-ten-tuesday-questions-for-my-favourite-authors/
