Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Have or Haven’t Read That I’d Like in My Library

Happy Tuesday, bloggers!

By 2 pm on Monday, I knew I was done with this week. It’s been that kind of start. But hopefully, it turns out better than it has. Do you feel me? Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised. 😂

Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. The final August prompt is books I’ve read that I’d like in my personal library. Well, this topic may be a bit difficult for me since I buy almost all of my books. So I’m putting in a mix of books I do own but haven’t gotten around to reading and books I’ve read but don’t own.

I hope you all my picks!

Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Refuse to Let Anyone Touch

Happy Tuesday, bloggers,

Oh goody, I get to show the world of how weird I am. Scratch that. You probably already know. But I might as well give you more examples, am I right?

Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. The next topic is all about books we don’t want anyone, including other book lovers, touching. Frankly, I don’t let anyone, except my Mom, go near my books. I don’t let anyone borrow them either. So since I don’t own many signed or special copies, they hold more meaning for me. But I may have an awful case of OCD. I don’t know which.

So let’s get to the list, yes? I hope you enjoy the read.

Monthly Wrap-Up: September 2018

Morning, everyone!

How is it the first week of October?! I’m trying to wrap my mind around that. But then again, I’m excited for Halloween to come, so I don’t care. 😂

The first half of September went great. I thought I’d breeze through my TBR pile, and then the dreaded reading slump hit me quicker than I thought was possible. I’m surprised I could finish three books. Don’t you hate when it comes out of nowhere? I just hope Wildcard gets me out of it.

Anyways, let’s get to the post, yes?

Remind me how to complete an actual reading challenge. I failed horribly with my attempt to do Kathy’s Sequel September. 😅 In addition to these ones, I wanted to read three more books, but I couldn’t do it.

Lifel1ke by Jay Kristoff

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Please don’t judge me. Lifel1k3 is the first book from Kristoff I’ve ever read. AND I REGRET EVERYTHING. Now, I’m a follower. I’ll sacrifice my life’s blood to get more of his books. I don’t care.

Imagine Romeo and Juliet set in a post-apocalyptic world where androids show more humanity than some humans. Well, some androids. It wouldn’t be a Kristoff book without mass murder by androids. It’s one of my favourite reads of this year!

Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let me remind everyone that I am Catwoman trash. Okay, I’m also Maas trash as well, so this book works out quite well for me. The DC Icons series is getting better with each addition. I love how Maas brings a human touch to the always tough Catwoman and shows us her weaknesses along the way. If you’re looking for some Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn action, I highly recommend.

The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas

⭐️⭐️⭐️¾

I wanted to love this prequel. I did. But I struggled hard with it. It took me two weeks to finish reading it. And while I enjoyed it, I didn’t fall in love with it. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mindset. But the Sam and Celaena scenes will haunt me to my dying days. Review will come shortly!

Naturally, I do better buying books than reading them. Indigo Teen sent me over Tracy Banghart’s Grace and Fury. Thank you, Indigo! Finally, I got some hotly anticipated sequels I’ve been wanting to get my hands onto! I need to catch up on my TBR list. I cannot wait to get to this beauties!

So how was your month? Have you completed any reading challenges? What was your must-have book for September? Let’s chat. I’d love to catch up!

Top Ten Tuesday | Books by My Favourite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read

Happy, Tuesday!

How are we at the end of September?! Anyways, I swear this topic is laughing at me as I write about it. I’ve lost count of all the books and series I need to finish. It’s not funny. Not anymore.

Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. This week’s topic promotes your favourite authors’ books you still need to read. And since my TBR pile has a life of its own, I’ll just show a few, or this list will eat me alive. Enjoy!

Wonder Woman

Don’t kill me, please. Yes, I’ve read Nightwalker and Soustealer, but I forgot about Warbringer. Again, don’t kill me. I feel bad enough. 😰 I’ve been dying to crack open this gorgeous book, but I tend to choose the most recent releases to read, then ignore the older titles.

The Caged Queen

If I don’t get enough dragons in this sequel, I’m revolting. I truly am. I’ll be that salty. Even though I’ve read only one of Kristen’s book, she’s an insta-buy author for me now. I couldn’t get enough of the Last Namsara. The worldbuilding sold me, but the storytelling kept me.

Wires and Nerve

I love this series so much, but I fell behind on it though. Originally, I thought it was over. But Marissa surprised us all by expanding it into graphic novels. Hopefully, Wires and Nerve is just as magical and dorky as TLC.

Throne of Glass Series

I swear, I’m purposely delaying to read the rest of this series because the finale book scares me more than I can possibly imagine. I want all my babies to survive. But you know how Sarah likes to kill off great characters. However, I need more Rowaelin, Aedion, Lysandra, Dorian, and Manon.

So let’s all take a breath before Kingdom of Ash comes out, or we’ll be blubbering messes by the end.

The Young Elites

When I first picked up Warcross, I never read Marie’s previous series. Sure I’ve heard a lot about her, but I wasn’t drawn to any of them. But now, I am. I love her writing style and the way she spins her stories. And I can’t resist a great dystopian sci-fi book. How did you like reading this series?

The Villains Series

Do you know how odd I am as a book buyer? I pre-order Vengeful before I even bought, or read, Vicious. Does that thinking make any sense No. Clearly not. But I love anti-heroes, magic, betrayal, revenge, and good old deception.

Top Ten Tuesday | Books with Red, White, and Black Covers

Hey, everyone!

Canada’s Day has just passed, and I was stuck in the house so I wouldn’t melt like a cruel witch I am. I guess this post serves as a late celebration for my country’s birthday. 😂 I couldn’t find just red and white, so I went with red, white, and black, which is our Olympic colours.

And I’d like to wish all my US bloggers a happy fourth of July!!! Hopefully, we’re all out of this horrible heat wave by then. If not, be careful, dearies.

Vengeful by V. E. Schwab

This cover gives me shivers. It’s so aesthetically pleasing. I’m Schwab Trash™, so you know I need to read this series. This series is one of the most original plots I’ve heard of, and I can’t wait to get these books.

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

I’ve heard this installment is one of the best, so I hope that’s true. I need to start reading this series. I can’t keep pushing it off. But not this year. I just need to see how Manon and Aelin interact with each other. 😂

City of Ghosts by V. E. Schwab

Another Schwab book I need to read and hope doesn’t sit on my TBR list. Ugh, this cover is so beautiful. I can’t get over it. I don’t always read ghost stories, but I’ll buy anything she writes.

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

The more I look at this series, the more I need to read it. LOOK AT THAT COVER. I’m in heaven. And frankly, I need more vicious female leads in my life. They just complete me.

Dangerous Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

I’m a huge Caster Chronicles fan. I’ve read all the books, swooned over all the characters, and loved yet hated the film (let’s just say I love to hate it). So I was giddy when I heard my two favourite authors were expanding the series. I loved this book. But I absolutely hate how this spin-off ended. The fans are still expecting the third book, but no, we aren’t getting it.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

This book sounds enchanting, and I’ve been meaning to read it. But you know how it is. You add a book to your list, then forget about it. Beauty and the Beast is one of my top three favourite classic stories. I adore it. So I might take a chance in reading this retelling.
