Top Ten Tuesday | Books by My Favourite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read

Happy, Tuesday!

How are we at the end of September?! Anyways, I swear this topic is laughing at me as I write about it. I’ve lost count of all the books and series I need to finish. It’s not funny. Not anymore.

Top Ten Tuesday, originally created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a weekly meme. This week’s topic promotes your favourite authors’ books you still need to read. And since my TBR pile has a life of its own, I’ll just show a few, or this list will eat me alive. Enjoy!

Wonder Woman

Don’t kill me, please. Yes, I’ve read Nightwalker and Soustealer, but I forgot about Warbringer. Again, don’t kill me. I feel bad enough. 😰 I’ve been dying to crack open this gorgeous book, but I tend to choose the most recent releases to read, then ignore the older titles.

The Caged Queen

If I don’t get enough dragons in this sequel, I’m revolting. I truly am. I’ll be that salty. Even though I’ve read only one of Kristen’s book, she’s an insta-buy author for me now. I couldn’t get enough of the Last Namsara. The worldbuilding sold me, but the storytelling kept me.

Wires and Nerve

I love this series so much, but I fell behind on it though. Originally, I thought it was over. But Marissa surprised us all by expanding it into graphic novels. Hopefully, Wires and Nerve is just as magical and dorky as TLC.

Throne of Glass Series

I swear, I’m purposely delaying to read the rest of this series because the finale book scares me more than I can possibly imagine. I want all my babies to survive. But you know how Sarah likes to kill off great characters. However, I need more Rowaelin, Aedion, Lysandra, Dorian, and Manon.

So let’s all take a breath before Kingdom of Ash comes out, or we’ll be blubbering messes by the end.

The Young Elites

When I first picked up Warcross, I never read Marie’s previous series. Sure I’ve heard a lot about her, but I wasn’t drawn to any of them. But now, I am. I love her writing style and the way she spins her stories. And I can’t resist a great dystopian sci-fi book. How did you like reading this series?

The Villains Series

Do you know how odd I am as a book buyer? I pre-order Vengeful before I even bought, or read, Vicious. Does that thinking make any sense No. Clearly not. But I love anti-heroes, magic, betrayal, revenge, and good old deception.

Top Ten Tuesday | Series I’d Like to Start/Finish Someday

Happy Tuesday!

Because of some family emergencies, I have had to take some time off of blogging, so I couldn’t post anything until now or comment on any of your posts. And I feel awful for not reaching out lately, but I simply couldn’t. Now I’m back, and I can’t wait to talk with you all about your TTT picks.

You know, I’ve only come across a few series I know I’d probably give up on, and I’ve actually talked about them quite a bit, so I thought I’d go with the third option for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic and talk about series I hope to start and/or finish one day.

Red Rising

I’ve been eyeing this series for several years but haven’t gotten to purchase it. But last year, my friend Kevin (I still feel bad I shot him) recommended Red Rising to me. I’ve put this series off because of the constant fighting among readers who pitted it against Red Queen. But since that series is over (and I’m still disappointed), I think I’ll take the plunge.

And I can’t help but expand my sci-fi list.

Throne of Glass

Besides the final book, I have the entire series waiting on my shelf, but I keep getting distracted by newer books and forget to get to this one. Yes, like I’ve said before, I spoiled myself and know a lot about this series, but reading it in its entirety is what I’m looking for. Frankly, I need some of Aelin’s kickass sass in my life.

Shadowsong

I loved reading Wintersong, so I knew I had to read the finale. Come on, it has the freaking LABYRINTH and the GOBLIN KING. My little 90s heart is screaming at me right now. But I’m hesitant though. When I look back, I think I fell for the hype of the book, not the book itself. However, Jae-Jones is such a great writer. Then again, the reviews worry me. So I’m conflicted.

DC Icons

I’ve read Batman, and I loved it. But I haven’t gotten around to the first book in this series, and I regret skipping it. I was so excited when Warbringer came out. But (*gasp*) I forgot to get to it. I just hope I can get to read it before Catwoman comes out.

The Wrath and the Dawn

Yes, I haven’t read A Thousand and One Nights. And I’m still debating this series. But I’m a big Renée fan, I adore Flame in the Mist, and I’m a sucker for retellings even with a huge dose of romance thrown into the mix. Her writing is whimsical and lush. So I’ll take a risk on this book and hope for some fantasy.

What do you think about it? Did you like it, or did you dnf it?

Two Dark Reigns

I loved yet hated Three Dark Crowns. So why have I put the third book on this list? I don’t know. But like I said, I loved it. But perhaps, a part of me needs to know how this story goes. And frankly, I can’t let a few (cheating) characters ruin a perfectly good fantasy series for me.

Book Haul: August 2017

Hey, everyone!

Phew. August flew by too quickly. Before school, I got the chance to have a mini vacation at my friend’s cottage, and I feel like I could tackle my TBR pile much more efficiently there than I do at home. I’m also participating in #TheReadingQuest, but unfortunately, I won’t finish it. Life got in the way.

So how was your August? Did you tackle that ever growing list? I’ve grabbed some great books, and I’m eagerly awaiting to read them. Like my wrap-up posts, I made new banner for all my book hauls! I hope you all enjoy!

Rituals by Kelley Armstrong

Eee! I’m excited and scared to read the finale of this series. It’s one of my favourites, and unfortunately I may have ruined the book by reading the last page. 😭 But I’ll soldier through, and I hope I’ll love it like the rest. I feel as if Cainsville is a second home to me since I fell in love with Kelley’s books.

I’m sad to see Cainsville go, but hopefully we’ll be getting novellas afterwards!

Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo

This book is on fire right now! I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve heard great things about it on Goodreads. And I can’t wait to finally read it. What about you?!

I’m not a huge comic reader, but I’d like to eventually weave my way into comics, and I think Warbringer might be my way in. And I hope to pick up the rest in the DC Icons!

If you haven’t seen, I’m hosting a giveaway for this book! Find out more information here.

The Darkest Craving by Gena Showalter

I fully admit that I am addicted to the Lord of the Underworld. And I also admit I need help. Heh. I’ve been wondering how this sequel will play out. Readers don’t see much of Kane, the keeper of Disaster, which likes to completely wreak havoc on Kane and everyone around him. I’ve felt sorry for this character for such a long time. I hope I like it!

A Conjuring of Light by V. E. Schwab

I haven’t read the second book, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have the finale ready once I’m done it. Schwab’s second series is a unique and imaginative feat to read. I adore the first book, and I hope to read the second and third shortly.

What did you think of the finale book?

#TheReadingQuest Recommendations

So you’ve signed up for The Reading Quest, but you’re not sure what to read. I get you. Trust me, looking at that Quest Board is a beauty to behold, until you look at how many choices you have, then you freak.

Thankfully, I quickly found my choices (having a stock pile of books sitting on your shelf will help). But if you’re having a “I don’t know what to read next!” moment, I’ve made a list for each character class so you can find your next read. I’ve thrown in some to-be and recently released books as well!

Naturally, I procrastinate by making this post, while I should be catching up on my own quest. Go me. 😅 Hopefully, these recs help!

Now I’m listing several books that work for multiple classes and squares (you don’t want to see my written list. It’s way too bloody long). These choices give you different options so you won’t get stuck on a square or class. If you’ve already chosen one square for a book, just move on to the next.

Happy questing!

Why Am I Waiting?

Wonder Woman? ✔️

Leigh Bardugo book? ✔️

I’M IN.

Guys, we have only 20 days left!!! This giddy book nerd is excited (if you haven’t figured out by now). I’ve been wanting to move more into the DC universe, and Leigh writing a Wonder Woman just seems like a natural stepping stone to get into it. And frankly, I’ll read anything she publishes.

And I must admit, I haven’t seen the movie, and I regret every second not doing so! 😫 But I believe DC’s move to have these books written by well-known (and well-loved) authors is the smartest idea yet. I’m curious to see what Leigh brings to this universe. And a little woman empower doesn’t hurt anyone. I cannot wait to buy this book!

And don’t miss my upcoming giveaway post for a chance to win a copy of WW!
